IKEA is seeking a Childcare Activity Area Associate for its Paramus, New Jersey location. This part-time role involves creating a safe and engaging environment for children, registering them, planning activities, and building relationships with families. The position requires adherence to safety policies and may involve supporting other customer experience functions.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to creating a pleasant and safe environment for children in the play facility.
  • Register children, monitor and entertain them in the playroom, and maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Participate in planning and executing children's activities.
  • Build meaningful and empathetic relationships with children and their caretakers.
  • Strictly adhere to all IKEA play facility and safety & security policy and procedures.
  • Support in other areas of the customer experience function as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in childcare and/or retail customer service & cash handling preferred.
  • Must have working availability on Mondays to Thursdays from 4:30PM to 10:30PM.
  • Must have complete open working availability on Fridays & Saturdays from 9:00AM to 10:30PM.
  • Must pass a background check and drug test.

Desired Qualifications

  • CPR and First Aid certification training provided.
  • Ability to lift and carry items occasionally up to 50lbs.
