In short

As a Retail Carts Co-worker at IKEA, you will ensure an enjoyable shopping experience by providing car loading/unloading services and maintaining store shopping tools. This full-time, hourly position based in Bolingbrook requires availability for evenings and weekends, with an expected transition to Naperville around October 2027.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and efficient car loading and/or unloading services while keeping the loading zone clean.
Ensure that all physical shopping tools (carts, pencils, bags, maps, twine) are adequately stocked and maintained throughout the store.
Fill physical shopping tools at closing.
Monitor the condition of physical and digital shopping tools, report IT issues, and remove unsafe tools.
Address customer needs, resolve issues independently, and escalate matters to a manager when needed.
Support in other customer service areas such as Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO), Exchanges & Returns, and Click & Collect.
Provide a simple and efficient handout experience in FSHO.
Ensure products and equipment are properly staged when supporting returns.
Create a positive customer experience by ensuring accurate order handoff in Click & Collect.
Contribute to an inclusive environment where diversity is embraced.

Requirements

Lifting up to 50lbs and walking frequently.
Working outdoors 50% of the time.
18+ years old.
Availability for evenings and weekends.

Desired Qualifications

Understanding of IKEA's culture and values.
Ability to work in a retail environment.
Experience in customer service is a plus.
