Qualcomm is seeking an experienced Camera Frontend Implementation Engineer in Vancouver, BC, to lead the frontend implementation of complex Camera-ISP designs in advanced technology nodes. This role involves achieving aggressive power, performance, and area (PPA) targets through hands-on ownership of large-block synthesis, optimization, and close collaboration with engineering teams to ensure successful tapeouts.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the RTL-to-Physical Design frontend flow for Camera ISP designs.
- Perform logic synthesis and optimization, static timing analysis (STA), and timing constraint development and validation.
- Drive formal verification (LEC/FV) and low-power implementation and verification.
- Execute physical-aware synthesis and implementation, and support placement-and-routing convergence.
- Implement and close functional and timing ECOs.
- Collaborate with Front-end Design, DFT, and Physical Design teams to achieve design convergence and tapeout readiness.
- Develop schedules, assess risks, and track execution to support successful silicon tapeouts.
- Contribute technical leadership in design reviews and project discussions, helping shape architecture and implementation decisions.
- Develop and improve synthesis and physical-design methodologies and flows for greater efficiency and scalability.
- Generate and verify ECOs for functional and timing fixes, working closely with the physical design team.
- Strong scripting skills to automate flows, improve productivity, and support analysis/debug (e.g., for synthesis, STA, ECO, and verification workflows).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Strong technical knowledge.
- Hands-on ownership of large-block synthesis and optimization.
- Close collaboration across engineering teams.
- Strong scripting skills to automate flows, improve productivity, and support analysis/debug (e.g., for synthesis, STA, ECO, and verification workflows).
