In short

We are looking for a Buyer (contractor) in Tianjin, China, responsible for implementing purchasing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and managing inventory. The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 3 years of purchasing experience, and familiarity with MRP logic and English communication.

Responsibilities

  • Implement purchasing for critical/difficult/complicated raw materials.
  • Follow, maintain, and optimize the purchase process.
  • Review and negotiate costs, contracts, lead-time, and payment terms with suppliers.
  • Manage purchase orders using MRP logic, coordinating deliveries to avoid stockouts and over-inventory.
  • Communicate material forecasts with suppliers and monitor supplier stock to meet plant demand.
  • Advise planners on part shortages and actual supplier delivery dates.
  • Manage RTV goods, coordinate replacements, rework, and debit notes with suppliers.
  • Oversee inbound logistics and importing compliance, especially for overseas suppliers.
  • Process payments against goods received and resolve urgent payment issues.
  • Discuss defective goods or services with suppliers and implement corrective actions.
  • Update and maintain data in I-supply and Oracle systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical areas.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a ‘buyer’ in purchasing related roles.
  • Good negotiation skills; ability to balance payment terms, price, and delivery lead time.
  • Familiarity with MRP logic, materials planning, inventory management, and purchase process.
  • Able to communicate successfully in English, both written and oral.

  • APICS-CPIM preferred.
