Are you passionate about building next-generation platforms for real-time insights? Microsoft's Azure Data team is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to evolve the Kusto log analytics platform and drive real-time data solutions within Microsoft Fabric, impacting global customers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and improve cloud-native services that are scalable, secure, and easy to operate.
  • Drive architectural decisions and lead the development of major components in a distributed, high-SLA system.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Conduct code and design reviews and mentor junior engineers.
  • Help shape the future of real-time analytics in Microsoft Fabric RTI, with customer impact as your north star.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, Python or Java.
  • 2+ years building and running services in a cloud environment (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Experience in designing and operating large-scale distributed systems with high availability and reliability
  • Experience working with Big Data technologies or platforms
  • Experience collaborating with customers or internal partners to build solutions
  • Strong understanding of multi-threading and asynchronous programming
  • Passion for performance optimization, reliability, and system observability

Desired Qualifications

  • Academic degree in Computer Science or related field.
