Synopsys is seeking a Staff Engineer for Applications Engineering in Poland. This role focuses on providing expertise in Design for Test (DFT) methodologies, implementing and validating DFT techniques, and supporting customer design flows. The position involves working with AI-assisted EDA workflows and agentic tools to deliver cutting-edge silicon solutions.

Responsibilities

Provide expertise for test solutions during design planning, budgeting, and implementation.
Conduct test methodology design rules checking during RTL coding stages.
Implement and validate DFT techniques like scan compression, core wrapping, and logic & memory Built-In Self-Test (BIST).
Generate and validate Automatic Test Pattern Generation (ATPG) patterns, including advanced fault models.
Participate in customer design and flow reviews.
Analyze and debug diagnostics to resolve technical issues.
Support tape-out readiness by delivering high-quality test logic and test patterns.
Deploy and tune agentic AI flows for DFT at customer sites.

Requirements

BSc with 7+ years/MSc with 5+ years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other relevant fields.
Experience with RTL coding, DFT insertion, scan synthesis, ATPG, and MBIST architecture planning.
Excellent knowledge in pattern generation and silicon bring-up processes.
Strong understanding of protocols like 1149.x, 1500 ad 1687.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze and debug complex issues.
Practical fluency with LLM-based coding assistants and agentic tools in an engineering workflow.
