Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance to field salespeople regarding product applicability and installation.
Partner with sales to identify, qualify, and advance opportunities supporting profitable growth.
Develop and participate in customer sales presentations.
Define and coordinate special customer product modifications.
Lead the technical and commercial quality of quotations, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
Evaluate special proposals, quotation strategy, pricing, risk, and value differentiation.
Act as an interface between the sales channel and the company.
Develop and conduct product and application training.
Continuously review and improve internal processes affecting application support speed and quality.
Equip the Applications Engineering team with effective tools, standards, data, and workflows.
Set clear performance expectations and use relevant measures to drive accountability.
Coach application engineers to connect technical recommendations to customer value.
Partner with functional leaders to develop team capabilities.
Manage daily workload and align resources to drive company growth.
Build cross-functional partnerships with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and other teams.
Establish clear ownership, escalation paths, and feedback loops for complex quotations.
Promote customer and commercial awareness among all employees.
Analyze common product problems and coordinate solutions.

Requirements

B.S. in Engineering or a related technical field required.
8+ years of progressive experience in engineering, marketing, technical sales, or applications engineering.
Demonstrated commercial acumen and sales mindset.
Experience developing or improving quotation processes, evaluating technical and commercial risk.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and empower technical teams.
Ability to influence across functions and align stakeholders.
Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Access.
Ability to handle delicate customer relationships with diplomacy.
Willing to travel within North America 10% of the year.

Desired Qualifications

SAP knowledge preferred.
Commercial leadership experience strongly preferred.
Experience in engineering.
