International Door Products is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a new, hands-on role at their manufacturing facility in Detroit, Michigan. This position involves owning financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting while providing actionable insights and supporting growth objectives. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate balance sheet schedules
  • Conduct customer and vendor account reconciliations
  • Analyze variances against budget and forecast, providing actionable insights
  • Evaluate the payback of capital investments through detailed financial analysis
  • Support financial forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with audits and regulatory filings
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Prior experience working under strict reporting deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Experience with QuickBooks, JD Edwards, and OneStream preferred
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment required, ideally in an industrial goods enterprise with multiple locations
  • Effective communicator with a growth mindset and ability to work independently

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA, CPA, or CMA a plus
