About the job

Technical writers plan, create, and maintain educational content as an integral part of the engineering or user experience. The content is often in the form of documentation, but may also be UI text, sample code, videos, or other educational material. Regardless of the content medium, technical writers are distinguished by their abilities to explain complex topics in a way that’s useful to their audience.

In this role, you will be responsible for working with engineering and product management to document new features. You will also update the documents to address customer feedback and internal bug reports. You will have access to a team of writers in the Cloud organisation, with opportunities to collaborate around tools, process, and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, write, and publish technical documentation for the Cloud Firestore database service including critical customer user journeys, concepts, how-to guides, and API reference documentation for enterprise customers.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, UX researchers, and User Interface partners to identify the critical user journeys and create information architectures that help customers through those journeys.
  • Collaborate with the Cloud Database writers to refine ways of working to deliver a customer experience.
  • Work with functional partners to manage and prioritize the technical writing workload.
