Responsibilities
- Partner with AMZL site operations team to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance with local and regional regulations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles and kaizens to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk.
- Build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change through comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.
- Instruct and train Operations Leaders in company safety policies and assist site teams in incorporating safety standards.
- Identify best practices and incorporate them into company safety policies for continuous improvement.
- Possess excellent safety program knowledge and relevant safety, environmental, and ergonomic knowledge.
- Lead WHS & Safety team members (Safety Specialist, Safety Coordinators, Onsite first aid Associates).
- Communicate safety team expectations, provide feedback, and ensure execution of core competencies.
- Measure sites’ performance against published requirements in safety policies.
- Analyze safety metrics and review incident trends to identify high-risk areas and allocate resources.
- Perform frequent site safety audits to identify non-compliance and implement solutions.
- Audit record keeping, workplace organization, and Associate behaviors for compliance and accuracy.
- Seek input from Safety teams, Associates, and leaders on safety program improvement opportunities and ensure open communication.
- Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy.
- Audit the quality, delivery, and effectiveness of all required safety training.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 4+ years previous experience in Environment, Health & Safety.
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Health and Safety or a related field.
