This temporary Welder position operates on the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, with potential for full-time hire. Responsibilities include operating and tending welding machines, inspecting metal products to specifications, and interpreting blueprints. A high school diploma or GED and basic math skills are required, along with MIG welding experience.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, or tend welding machines to fabricate metal products or assemblies.
- Load or feed work pieces into welding machines.
- Give directions to other workers regarding machine set-up and use.
- Correct problems by adjusting controls or stopping machines.
- Inspect, measure, or test completed metal work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Record operational information on specified production reports.
- Perform basic MIG welding of galvanized steel.
- Interpret blueprints, work orders, or production schedules.
- Assemble, align, and clamp work pieces into holding fixtures.
- Implement universal standards and specs to meet building codes and legal requirements.
- Use precision measuring tools to inspect grooves and angles.
- Conduct tests to check weld quality (hydrostatic, x-ray, dimension tolerance).
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate and/or industrial experience.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to do basic math.
- Basic understanding of electricity.

- Proficiency with Calipers, Micrometers, Tape measure, Machinist square.
- Experience with Gas welding or brazing or cutting apparatus, Arc welding equipment, Brazing machines, Computerized numerical control CNC oxy-fuel systems.
- Familiarity with Hammers, Hand Grinders and pedestal grinders.
- Experience with MIG Welding and processes.
- Experience with Grinding and cutting equipment.
- Experience with Fixtures.
- Experience with Oxy-fuel system.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
