This full-time, hybrid role is for a Technology Sales professional who will act as a virtual Chief Technical Officer, providing account thought leadership and leveraging deep knowledge of Microsoft's solutions. The position requires synthesizing business insights, orchestrating global teams, and driving digital transformation strategies to deliver alternative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize business insights and orchestrate global teams to deliver alternative solutions.
  • Act as a "virtual Chief Technical Officer" providing Account Thought leadership.
  • Leverage deep knowledge of Microsoft's solutions, industry, and customer needs.
  • Lead technology strategy formulation by aligning customer needs with technology solutions.
  • Develop and drive opportunities, present them to the customer, and create demand.
  • Coach peers on opportunity initiation and mapping Microsoft priorities.
  • Lead digital transformation using corporate and cross-industry resources.
  • Partner with line-of-business leaders to articulate the benefits of Microsoft technology.
  • Help customer technical specialists sell Microsoft offerings.
  • Map technical customer requirements and business scenarios to Microsoft technology platforms.
  • Orchestrate necessary teams and partners for demand generation and account planning.
  • Deliver regular industry/technology briefings to customer senior decision-makers.
  • Use readiness resources and demonstrate expertise in creating enablement plans.
  • Apply expertise and thought leadership to identify and inform the development of Industry Sales Kits.
  • Articulate and understand specific industry-related market trends and customer challenges.
  • Synthesize business and industry insights for forecasting and account planning.
  • Partner with a line-of-business leader or senior executive to articulate how complex Microsoft technology meets future business needs.
  • Act as the customer's Technology Mentor to senior leaders, including TDMs and C-level executives.
  • Drive market share (e.g., cloud, collaboration, AI).
  • Lead customer business transformations through digital technologies.
  • Engage and influence customer, partner, and Microsoft technical resources.
  • Establish best practices and standards around account planning.
  • Coordinate complex extended account teams and drive forecasting.
  • Own the technical portion of the account plan and lead customer plan delivery.
  • Lead Account Strategy Envisioning (ASE) with extended teams, customers, and partners.
  • Create new Stage 1 opportunities and manage consumption pipeline.
  • Define the blueprint for opportunity initiation and set standards.
  • Lead the customer journey into the era of AI and Industrial Metaverse.
  • Create, develop, and drive opportunities based on industry best practices.
  • Leverage partners and multiple channels (e.g., social media) to create demand.
  • Orchestrate efforts to drive MCEM lifecycle and stage progression.
  • Create mid- and long-term technology and business roadmaps.
  • Lead the translation of customer business objectives into an effective Industry Technology Architecture.
  • Lead analysis of overall customer needs, outcomes, and blockers.
  • Partner with global executives to lead overall strategy development.
  • Ensure execution of technology strategy and digital transformation by resolving technical blockers.
  • Leverage broad knowledge of Microsoft's product landscape, solutions, and strategy.
  • Proactively coordinate with internal and external networks of industry experts.
  • Drives and leverages leaders from the partner ecosystem.
  • Share best practices internally and provide coaching to subsidiary resources.
  • Create connections and feedback loops with Product and Engineering teams.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, industry, and internal advocate.
  • Articulate the business opportunity for Microsoft based on product gaps.
  • Create security thought leadership with customer executives using Microsoft Security and Zero Trust narratives.
  • Establish Microsoft’s security credentials and build opportunities to improve customer security posture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 6+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, business consulting, practice building, or related technical/sales experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience in relevant customer industry.
  • 6+ years experience in digital transformation, or using technology to drive customer business outcomes.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 12+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, business consulting, practice building, or related technical/sales experience OR equivalent experience.
