Amazon Lab126 is seeking a detail-oriented Software Development Engineer (SysDev I - Multimedia) to contribute to the design, development, and quality of next-generation consumer electronic devices. The role involves working on media technologies, audio/video components within FireOS, and the multimedia stack, utilizing languages like Python, Java, C++, and C# on Linux environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and development for multimedia initiatives and feature development.
- Investigate, prototype, and deliver new and innovative system solutions.
- Research, design, implement, document, and maintain new and existing systems.
- Create software services and tools to drive the software development process towards higher quality.
- Implement and customize software, working closely with application teams to deliver audio/video components within FireOS.
- Develop from concept stage to launch stage, ensuring the highest level of quality.
- Own media technologies and quality end to end (E2E).
- Work with internal and external partners to deliver best-in-class devices.
- Research new technologies, develop new tools, and help define processes for the media stack of next-generation devices.
- Implement new features and enhancements within the application/middleware framework of different Media Player Engines.
Requirements
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure.
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust.
- Experience with Linux/Unix.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.
