The Supplier Development Engineer will build strong supplier relationships, evaluate and select suppliers, and drive APQP/PPAP activities. This role involves educating suppliers on requirements, steering sustainability programs, and promoting productivity improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with suppliers for mutual benefit.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers.
  • Drive APQP/PPAP activities for selected projects in collaboration with the Technology organization.
  • Participate in the creation and execution of Purchasing strategies.
  • Encourage supplier development and innovation.
  • Educate and mentor suppliers on cost and quality requirements.
  • Steer sustainability supply chain management programs.
  • Drive productivity improvement programs such as VPS/Lean.
  • Guide continuous improvement actions.

Requirements

  • University degree in engineering or similar.
  • Experience from quality/production area.
  • Knowledge in supply chain management and Lean manufacturing.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Agile character, eager to learn and improve.
  • Positive and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Experience in driving project management effectively.
  • Knowledge about product development.
  • Ability to manage and influence others.
  • Structured and focused on execution.
  • Analytic and have a sustainable mindset.
  • Comfortable in meeting and working cross-functionally.
  • Able to work within remote management.
  • Able to handle parallel activities.

Desired Qualifications

  • Educational or practical experience within sheet metal / plastics processes preferable.
  • Local language skills.
