Google is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the Cloud AI Gemini Enterprise team in Bengaluru, India. The role focuses on developing advanced AI technologies, including GenAI and LLMs, and requires significant experience in software development, ML design, and technical leadership. The engineer will contribute to optimizing agentic experiences for enterprise customers and enhancing large-scale software solutions.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with other Gemini Enterprise teams to build long-term differentiation.
Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
Design and implement frameworks/techniques to optimize for reliability, quality, and configurability.
Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
Help support customer issues and participate in on-call duties as needed.
Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Work on state-of-the-art methods to enable agentic experiences for Google Cloud's enterprise customers.
Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software development.
5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing end-to-end Machine Learning (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
2 years of experience with state-of-the-art GenAI techniques (e.g., LLMs, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models) or with GenAI-related concepts (language modeling, computer vision).

Desired Qualifications

Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
Experience building and understanding agentic AI, large language models (LLMs), and their application in customer-facing products.
Experience with generative AI and building agentic systems.
