As a Senior Engineer in the Power & Performance team at Qualcomm, you will contribute to industry-leading power and thermal management solutions for Automotive, Compute, Mobile, IoT, and AR/VR chipsets. This role involves system-level analysis, risk identification, and developing optimized software solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs.
  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, and test engineers to design system-level software solutions.
  • Profile Power & Thermal and identify Power, thermal & Peak Current risks.
  • Provide optimized solutions with proper mitigation for power and thermal issues.
  • Perform system-level analysis of Power/thermal use cases.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, HW design, Performance, Power/Thermal Systems, and various software teams.
  • Develop tools and methodologies for competitive analysis.
  • Develop thermal mitigations schemes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Desired Qualifications

  • Systems/HW background with a good understanding of microprocessor architecture and common SoC hardware blocks (Interconnects, Display, Graphics, etc.).
  • Operating systems concepts - scheduling, memory management and device drivers.
  • Experience using debug tools like JTAG debugger, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers.
  • Knowledge on Mobile power or Power/thermal management SW development.
