Sr. Director of Product Management responsible for AI Platforms & Systems Solutions, defining end-to-end hardware-software solutions for next-generation on-device and hybrid AI on the Windows ecosystem. This role requires leading a product team, developing long-term roadmaps, and driving product strategy from conception to end-of-life. Strong technical focus on AI/ML models, agentic systems, orchestration, protocols/standards, and the Windows Edge AI ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Direct a comprehensive product strategy from conception and definition through end of life for AI platform products and specifications.
- Build and lead a high-performing product team, formulate and execute long-term roadmaps for cost and profit control.
- Function as a central resource across systems, engineering, standards, quality, marketing, and partner teams.
- Set direction, grow talent, and be accountable for portfolio outcomes.
- Translate emerging model, agentic, and orchestration trends across the Windows edge-AI stack into a differentiated product and specification roadmap.
- Oversee successful cross-functional collaboration and ensure completion of milestones by engineering and program-management partners.
- Review identified gaps in the market and make portfolio decisions impacting product and specification roadmaps.
- Drive product-line and specification launch strategies for new Windows-ecosystem AI products and technologies.
- Monitor the market to validate product and specification roadmaps and translate insights into adjustments.
- Drive long-term innovation and IP strategy, including patents and standards contributions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical field.
- 10+ years of Product Management or related work experience.
- Full-time onsite work in San Diego, CA (5 days per week).
- Depth in AI/ML Models, Agentic Systems, Orchestration, Protocols & Standards, Windows & Edge AI Ecosystem, and Product & Specification Development.
- Hands-on experience delivering Windows ecosystem-based AI products/services utilizing local AI accelerators (CPU, GPU, or NPU).
- Detailed understanding of AI-related APIs/DDIs and SDKs for edge devices (Windows preferred).
- Understanding of AI middleware and frameworks such as llama.cpp, Ollama, and AnythingLLM.
- Understanding of LLM/VLM models in the ~1B–150B parameter range and their edge trade-offs.
Desired Qualifications
- 15+ years of Product Management or related technical work experience.
- Advanced degree (MS or MBA) in a technical or business discipline preferred.
- Direct experience defining or shipping Windows-ecosystem AI/ML platforms, inference runtimes, agentic frameworks, or orchestration systems on local accelerators (CPU, GPU, NPU).
- Familiarity with AI middleware/frameworks (llama.cpp, Ollama, AnythingLLM) and the AI app development flow.
- Working knowledge of LLM/VLM models in the ~1B–150B range and their edge trade-offs; Qwen, Llama, Gemma, gpt-oss families preferred.
- Experience authoring or contributing to technical specifications, protocols, or industry standards.
- 5+ years of people-leadership experience, including hiring, developing, and retaining technical talent.
- 4+ years working in a large, matrixed organization.
- 2+ years working with operating budgets and/or project financials.
- 2+ years negotiating third-party business agreements or partnerships.
