This role is for a Sourcing Engineer responsible for building competitive and sustainable suppliers for assigned commodities and managing sourcing activities for new product development. Responsibilities
- Manage assigned commodity, establish and execute commodity strategy.
- Develop market knowledge of responsible commodity markets, technical trends, and raw material pricing.
- Manage vendor relationships and build sustainable partnerships.
- Undertake sourcing activities for assigned new projects.
- Focus on supplier performance, including cost reduction, on-time delivery, lead time, and quality.
- Ensure purchasing costs comply with project specifications and company targets.
- Evaluate, maintain, and develop existing suppliers using AC management tools, and introduce new competitive suppliers.
- Collaborate with quality and planning teams to optimize supplier performance.
- Follow Atlas Copco Way in daily work.
- Complete other tasks assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in sourcing or purchasing, focusing on electrical components and mechanical parts.
- Deep understanding of raw materials and commodities supply markets.
- Good knowledge of engineering drawings.
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a proven work record.
- Legal knowledge in contract negotiation.
- Professional knowledge of supplier evaluation and development.
- Proficient English language skills for contacting overseas suppliers.
- Cross-functional knowledge in sourcing, process management, quality assurance, and project management.
- Knowledge of data analysis and cost development.
- Strong understanding of the sourcing role in manufacturing companies.
- Good skills in MS software and ERP systems.
- Good communication, cooperation, and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor's degree or above in electrical or mechanical related fields.
