Google Cloud is seeking a Software Engineering Manager with deep expertise in databases and large-scale systems to lead a team focused on AI-powered database intelligence. This role involves technical leadership, people management, and driving product strategy for innovative data platform solutions within Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver innovative products in the Database Intelligence Platform team for all Google Cloud Platform (GCP) wide Databases.
  • Provide thought leadership and collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure high-quality delivery of data platform, AI agents, and MCP servers.
  • Engage in design and code reviews with the team to ensure best practices and foster continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with leads across all DB teams in GCP to ensure alignment on technical direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in building and maintaining a data platform.
  • Experience with databases and performance troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of observability products (e.g. Datadog, Prometheus, ELK, OTel etc.).
