The Identity Kubernetes Platform team is seeking a Software Engineering IC4 to build and operate core platform capabilities for Microsoft Identity services on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). This role involves developing automation, fleet management solutions, and cloud-native systems to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient hosting for critical authentication services used by billions of customers globally.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate core platform capabilities for large-scale, mission-critical identity and security services.
- Develop automation and fleet management solutions for platform resilience and safe rollouts.
- Partner with engineering teams across Identity, Azure, and Microsoft Security.
- Improve platform reliability, security, observability, and operational excellence.
- Design and build cloud-native systems using Kubernetes, containers, and distributed systems.
- Use production insights to drive platform investments for scalability and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND proven software engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining production software using C#, .NET, or similar object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience building cloud-native or distributed systems, with an understanding of reliability, security, scalability, and service operations.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, infrastructure technologies, or platform engineering concepts, including Kubernetes, containers, networking, or infrastructure automation.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Experience building automation, orchestration, or fleet management systems for large-scale cloud environments.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Azure cloud services, and modern infrastructure-as-code or platform automation technologies.
- Experience operating highly available distributed systems with a focus on reliability, security, and safe service evolution.
