As a Software Development Engineer-2 on Amazon’s Partner Growth Experience team, you will own the design, development, and evolution of mission-critical systems for Selling Partners. This role requires technical leadership, cross-team collaboration, and a focus on operational excellence and feature delivery.
Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of complex features and subsystems, making architectural decisions.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with senior technical leaders to define system roadmaps.
- Partner deeply with product managers, UX designers, and senior stakeholders to translate business goals into technical strategies.
- Lead cross-functional design workshops.
- Build and evolve high-availability, secure services using modern engineering practices.
- Drive adoption of best practices across the team.
- Own system reliability and performance, proactively identifying and resolving production issues.
- Implement automated monitoring and alerting systems.
- Deliver high-impact features that accelerate partner success.
- Champion innovation by exploring and evaluating new technologies.
- Mentor SDE-1 engineers.
- Act as a technical escalations point for complex issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- 3+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
