As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Network LAN/WAN, you will lead the Network Data and Security track, manage incidents, changes, and problems, and provide Level-3 support. This role requires extensive experience with Cisco routing, switching, firewalls, wireless technologies, and network architectures, including ACI and Leaf>Spine>Leaf. You will also be responsible for security configurations, performance reviews, capacity planning, and vendor liaising.
Responsibilities
- Lead Network Data and Security track.
- Manage Incident, Change, and Problem management.
- Serve as the first level escalation point for network incidents, changes, and problems.
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Routing, Switching, Firewalls, and Wireless.
- Implement and manage Cisco ACI.
- Perform network maintenance and device upgrades, including patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
- Manage Wifi products like Cisco WLC and Access Points.
- Review performance, availability, and reliability of the network.
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
- Provide Level-3 support and troubleshooting for network issues.
- Adhere to configuration and change management policies.
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
- Support DR tests and failover from a WAN perspective.
- Provide network engineering support and training to team members.
- Manage devices using Cisco Prime Infrastructure.
- Manage DNS Records with third-party vendors.
- Manage and review the CMDB on Snow.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Cisco ASA, Checkpoint Firewalls, McAfee Web gateway, Barracuda Email security, and Thales Key management.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis for major incidents.
- Configure changes on firewalls to meet organizational security requirements.
- Integrate new firewalls into AWS cloud environments.
- Create and maintain firewall rules, policies, and objects using Checkpoint Management server.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other IT team members.
- Ensure customer environments are up-to-date with the latest Palo Alto Networks technologies and best practices.
Requirements
- 12+ Years of Network Data & Security experience.
- Extensive knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies.
- Excellent Exposure to current Leaf>Spine>Leaf architectures, validated designs, and methodologies.
- Excellent knowledge of dynamic routing protocols Eigrp, OSPF, iBGP, eBGP.
- Excellent exposure to Nexus 2/3/5/7/9K platforms.
- Excellent exposure to DNS, DHCP & IPAM.
- Strong Experience in managing Nexus/cisco switches with FEX, VPC, VXLAN, VDC's.
- Experience with Routers, switches, HSRP, VRRP & GLBP redundancy protocols, Firewalls.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for network & security related issues.
- Experience in monitoring tools like Solar Winds, thousand eye.
- Experience in Infoblox.
- Experience in Load balancers such F5(LTM, GTM).
- Experience integrating firewalls into AWS cloud environments.
- Certification: CCNP- Routing and switching or equivalent certification.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Wifi products such as cisco WLC and Access points.
- Ability to manage devices through Cisco Prime Infrastructure.
- Experience managing DNS Records with third party Vendors.
- Experience managing and reviewing the CMDB on Snow.
- Experience with Checkpoint Mgmt. server for firewall rule creation and policy management.
- Making customer environment to stay up to date with the latest Palo Alto Networks technologies and best practices.
