We are seeking a Senior Test Lead with over 10 years of experience in software testing, including 3-5 years in a lead role. The position requires hands-on experience with manual and automation testing, proficiency in tools like Jira and Python, and a strong understanding of regulated environments. This role is based in Chennai, India, and supports an onsite-offshore delivery model.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain test strategies and plans for software testing projects.
  • Lead and mentor a team of software testers to execute test cases and report defects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test coverage and timely delivery of quality software.
  • Utilize Jira for defect tracking and project management.
  • Automate test cases using Python scripting for efficient and effective testing.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in software testing.
  • Provide regular status updates to stakeholders on test progress and quality metrics.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software testing / quality assurance.
  • 3-5 years in a Test Lead, Track Lead, or Workstream Lead role.
  • Experience working in an onsite-offshore delivery model.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with Project stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience in manual testing, test design, test execution, defect management, test reporting, and release readiness support.
  • Strong working knowledge of JIRA, Xray, HP ALM / Micro Focus ALM, qTest, Azure DevOps, or similar test management and defect tracking tools.
  • Hands-on experience in Robot Framework using Python.
  • Ability to prepare clear workstream-level status updates, execution summaries, defect reports, risk logs, dependency trackers, and release readiness inputs.
  • Strong communication, coordination, analytical, ownership, and escalation skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with automation testing, API testing, backend testing, database testing, or integration testing is preferred based on project needs.
  • Use AI-assisted testing and automation tools to support test design, test case creation, coverage analysis, automation development, and estimation improvement, with appropriate human review and validation.
  • Experience supporting Life Sciences / Pharma / GxP-regulated applications is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of CSV / CSA, risk-based validation, 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP 5, ALCOA+, requirements traceability, and audit-ready evidence documentation.
  • ISTQB Foundation certification preferred.
  • Agile/Scrum, GAMP 5, CSV, CSA, or Life Sciences domain certifications are added advantages.
  • ISTQB Certified Tester or similar certification is preferred.
