Responsibilities

  • Deep understanding of the Java language, runtime behavior, bytecode compatibility, and common library APIs
  • Dependency management using Maven
  • Analyze release notes and changelogs to identify breaking API changes, behavior modifications, or deprecated features between library versions
  • Create, maintain, and resolve merge conflicts for patches
  • Resolve compilation failures through static analysis
  • Debug reverse-dependencies to identify issues after upgrading foundational libraries
  • Write unit tests
