Microsoft's Windows Cloud Experiences team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) services. This role involves developing and maintaining secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure, with a focus on DevOps practices and live-site operations for a rapidly growing billion-dollar business.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to both business and technology aspects of the Windows 365 team.
  • Drive the full end-to-end engineering cycle for critical scenarios.
  • Collaborate with internal partner teams like Microsoft Security, Compliance, AKS, and App Service.
  • Build and maintain secure, distributed, scalable, and resilient service infrastructure.
  • Enforce cloud security best practices, IAM, network security, and compliance.
  • Architect, build, and maintain automation frameworks for backend, APIs, and frontend.
  • Establish and implement efficient DevOps processes (release, livesite, buildout environment, tool chains).
  • Participate in On-Call and Site Reliability rotations.
  • Execute the full software development lifecycle, from architecture to live service operations.
  • Participate in engineering excellence initiatives, including code reviews and architecture discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check required upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping apps and/or services.
  • Good learning ability.
  • Good technical design skills and proven ability to drive system designs for commercial projects or products.
  • Good English communication skill.
  • Ambitious, self-motivated.
  • Agile, can-do attitude and great at dealing with ambiguity.
  • Solid coding, debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming language paradigms.
  • Experience in developing online services.
  • Good AI assisted coding practice.
