Microsoft is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its AI Experiences team, focusing on the Edge browser and its AI ecosystem. The role involves driving architecture and technical design for distributed systems, integrating services across Microsoft products, and leading engineering efforts from concept to deployment. This is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in the Redmond, WA office.

Responsibilities

  • Drive architecture and technical design for multi-tenant, highly available, and secure distributed systems.
  • Build and integrate services across Microsoft Edge, Microsoft 365, and Azure ecosystems.
  • Lead engineering efforts from concept through deployment, including design reviews, implementation, testing, monitoring, and live-site operations.
  • Collaborate across partner teams to define technical strategy, align dependencies, and deliver cohesive customer experiences.
  • Analyze reliability, scalability, performance, and security challenges, and drive long-term architectural improvements.
  • Mentor engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, and engineering best practices.
  • Leverage telemetry, customer feedback, and operational insights to continuously improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • OR equivalent experience.

Benefits

  • Typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year.
  • Base pay range in San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
