Responsibilities
- Own the design and delivery of complex, distributed backend services at the center of UTRPT's roadmap.
- Make architecture decisions that scale cleanly across new business lines and geographies.
- Partner with Science and Data Engineering teams to productionize machine learning models and data pipelines.
- Ensure reliability and operational excellence in production systems.
- Drive engineering excellence through design reviews, code reviews, and testing strategy.
- Lead cross-team technical initiatives that resolve ambiguity into shippable plans.
- Mentor engineers toward senior-level ownership through technical guidance and operational best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
