CyberCX, part of Accenture, seeks a Senior Security Analyst in Perth to join their Managed Security Services team. This role involves security monitoring, incident investigation, threat hunting, and improving customer security outcomes across enterprise environments. You will act as a senior escalation point, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to SOC capability development.

Responsibilities

Lead and perform security investigations across enterprise customer environments.
Analyze security events using SIEM platforms like Microsoft Sentinel and Splunk.
Investigate suspicious activity across identity, cloud, endpoint, and network telemetry.
Support incident response activities including investigation, scoping, containment, escalation, and customer communication.
Act as a senior escalation point for complex security incidents and investigations.
Tune and optimize existing detections to reduce false positives and improve detection quality.
Develop new customer-specific detections and security use cases.
Lead and contribute to threat hunting activities.
Identify gaps in logging, detections, and security visibility and recommend improvements.
Support vulnerability management activities.
Translate technical findings into clear customer recommendations and security outcomes.
Contribute to automation, tooling improvements, and broader SOC capability development.
Mentor and support junior analysts.
Collaborate with specialist CyberCX teams.
Participate in the team’s rotating after-hours on-call roster.

Requirements

Strong experience working in a SOC, MSSP, MDR or security operations environment.
Demonstrated experience leading or independently handling security investigations.
Hands-on experience with a SIEM such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk or a comparable platform.
Experience with EDR/XDR platforms such as Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike or Cortex XDR.
Strong understanding of identity and account compromise scenarios, including cloud and Microsoft environments.
Exposure to Microsoft Azure, Entra ID or broader cloud security environments.
Practical understanding of incident response, containment and escalation.
Experience analysing logs and correlating activity across multiple security data sources.
Experience with detection tuning, alert optimisation and ideally developing new detection logic.
Practical threat hunting experience, including working from intelligence, TTPs or suspicious indicators.
A good understanding of attacker behaviours and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
The ability to look beyond the alert itself and understand the customer, business impact and security outcome.
Strong judgement and the confidence to make recommendations during ambiguous or high-pressure situations.
Experience communicating technical findings clearly to customers or senior stakeholders.
Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced analysts.
