  • Design and implement prototype circuits and PCBs for custom electronics, high-speed digital (FPGA-based), RF, and mixed-signal electronics.
  • Develop and document tests for validation at component and system levels, supporting lab bring-up with various instruments.
  • Support CI pipeline setup and assist with test development.
  • Produce clear design documentation, interface specifications, and bring-up guides.
  • Participate in rigorous design reviews.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Physics, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field with 1+ year of software industry experience (research/development of commercial software, compilers, scientific computing, or multi-component systems).
  • OR Master's Degree with 3+ years of software industry experience.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of software industry experience.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

  • Familiarity with RF and high-speed digital designs.
  • Comfort working across HW/SW boundaries (GPIO, SPI, Serial, USB) and with scientific instrumentation.
  • Exposure to RTL and FPGA design.
  • Familiarity with signal processing/control or quantum control/readout concepts (curiosity and fast learning are more important).
  • Experience with Windows & Linux, VS Code, Git/GitHub, Azure DevOps CI/CD.
  • Experience with scripted builds (Tcl/Python).
  • Experience with design docs, code reviews, and comprehensive testing as part of the quality bar.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge topological quantum computing.
  • Collaborate with world-class experts in quantum physics and engineering.
  • Impact logical-qubit stability, throughput, and system scale.
  • Contribute to solving humankind's currently unsolvable problems.
