Alstom is seeking a Senior Project Controller for a full-time, hybrid role in Montreal, QC. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and at least 5 years of experience. The successful candidate will lead financial aspects of high-criticality projects, provide financial analysis, ensure compliance, and support negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial aspects of high-criticality projects to improve overall performance.
  • Partner with the Project Manager to drive financial strategy and decision-making.
  • Optimize financial elements such as organization, tax, hedging, and financing.
  • Provide financial analysis, advice, and guidance to project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with financial rules and regulations, including IFRS.
  • Monitor and improve contract margins, cash flow, and working capital optimization.
  • Manage costs, revenue, and profitability while preparing accurate financial forecasts.
  • Support claim management and negotiations with a focus on financial terms and risk mitigation.
  • Coach junior Finance Project Managers to build their skills and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Finance Project Manager or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Fluency in French and English is required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of industrial environments; experience in industrial controlling is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of an additional language is an asset.
  • Experience in auditing or project operations is an advantage.
  • Excellent team collaboration and communication skills.
