Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, and maintain AtScale semantic models.
- Build dimensions, measures, hierarchies, calculated metrics, relationships, and business KPIs.
- Integrate AtScale models with cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Microsoft Fabric/Azure).
- Enable semantic model consumption through Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Looker, and other analytical tools.
- Develop and optimize SQL for semantic-model implementation and troubleshooting.
- Analyze query performance and optimize models for faster BI/reporting response times.
- Work with data engineers to resolve issues in source models, fact/dimension structures, transformations, or data quality.
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and performance testing.
- Validate measures and business calculations against source data.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to semantic models, data, queries, security, or BI consumption.
- Support deployment and release activities.
- Maintain technical documentation covering semantic models, calculations, dependencies, and deployment configurations.
- Participate in code/model reviews and contribute to reusable development standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on AtScale development experience.
- Strong understanding of semantic modeling and multidimensional concepts.
- Hands-on experience building dimensions, measures, hierarchies, relationships, calculated metrics, and business KPIs.
- Advanced SQL skills.
- Strong understanding of dimensional data modeling, including fact/dimension and star-schema designs.
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Microsoft Fabric/Azure, or comparable cloud platforms.
- Experience integrating semantic models with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience troubleshooting query and analytical performance.
- Understanding of SDLC, source control, testing, and deployment practices.
Desired Qualifications
- 7+ years of Data & Analytics / BI development experience.
- 2+ years preferred of hands-on AtScale or comparable enterprise semantic-layer development.
- Demonstrated experience delivering semantic models for enterprise BI/reporting use cases.
- Experience working with large datasets and enterprise analytical workloads.
- Databricks/Snowflake certifications or equivalent cloud/data certifications.
- Knowledge of lakehouse architectures and Delta Lake.
- Experience with metadata management and data governance.
- Exposure to CI/CD and automated deployment.
- Experience in Healthcare and Life Sciences environments is beneficial.
