Responsibilities
- Define the commerce content strategy for Microsoft Store and priority Microsoft.com commerce experiences.
- Create reusable content models for common customer needs like FAQs, buying guides, and comparisons.
- Define product-knowledge requirements and establish product truth for consistent representation of claims, terminology, and attributes.
- Design human and machine decision journeys to translate customer questions and product complexity into clear buying guidance.
- Lead content and commerce taxonomy strategy, partnering with Search, UX, and product data teams.
- Partner with SEO and AI SEO to convert search demand and customer questions into prioritized content strategies.
- Improve content quality and consistency through standards and governance for terminology, naming, accuracy, and ownership.
- Simplify customer decision-making by auditing content for gaps, duplication, and conflicts.
- Use customer signals, performance data, and experimentation to improve discovery, comprehension, comparison, and conversion.
- Ensure product knowledge is clear, structured, and reliable to support AI-enabled experiences responsibly.
- Define content models and standards for product and engineering teams to operationalize through shared tools and AI capabilities.
- Increase speed and efficiency by identifying opportunities to reduce duplication and reliance on external vendors.
- Build strong partnerships and influence product, platform, and experience decisions across teams without direct authority.
- Embody Microsoft's culture and values.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Communications, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 3+ years experience in retail, customer service, ecommerce, data science, research, marketing or business-related roles OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Communications, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 4+ years experience in retail, customer service, ecommerce, data science, research, marketing or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in content strategy, content design, information architecture, taxonomy, ecommerce, digital product management or related roles.
- Experience defining content strategy and governance for complex global digital experiences.
- Experience with product taxonomy, content modeling, structured content, information architecture or product-knowledge systems.
- Understanding of ecommerce discovery, evaluation, comparison and purchase journeys.
- Working knowledge of search engine optimization, AI-search optimization and AI-influenced customer discovery.
- Experience using customer research, performance data and experimentation to inform content or product decisions.
- Experience translating content and customer-experience requirements into specifications for technical or product teams.
- Practical experience using AI to research, prototype, analyze or improve content and digital workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and deliver results across large, matrixed organizations.
- Ability to move between strategy, detailed problem-solving and hands-on experimentation.
- A builder mindset focused on creating reusable systems and improving how work gets done.
