Volvo Construction Equipment is seeking a Project Specialist in Ji'nan, China, to support Purchasing activities within NPD projects and Advanced Engineering. This role requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of administration experience, including contract management and parts procurement. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and networking skills, fluency in Chinese and English, and ideally experience in the construction equipment or automotive industry.
Responsibilities
- Support project managers with GDP deliverables and tasks.
- Manage sample orders for different sites and communicate project status.
- Assign responsible buyer to new parts and collaborate with various teams to manage sample orders.
- Control purchasing overall cost targets on new purchased parts.
- Plan and follow up with stakeholders for all new parts until first serial delivery.
- Identify opportunities and contribute to Commodity strategy development.
- Identify and manage target cost deviations, drive improvements.
- Secure time for Purchasing activities in the main time plan.
- Manage overall purchasing invoice receipt and payment in Jinan site.
- Train and coordinate interns working on documentation preparation.
- Handle purchasing administration, including meetings, team activities, and other events.
- Manage administrative tasks such as canteen, shuttle bus, company car, delivery, office supplies, and reimbursement coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, supply chain management or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of administration experience, including contract management, parts procurement, and purchasing administration.
- Fluent in written and spoken Chinese and English.
- CET-6 is a mandatory requirement.
Desired Qualifications
- A background in finance or procurement is a plus.
- Relevant technical knowledge and solid understanding of construction equipment.
- Strong communication skills, backed by a track record of delivering results.
- Strong networking skills and the ability to motivate team members.
- Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
- Previous work experience in the Construction Equipment or Automotive industry.
- Project management experience is a plus.
