Alstom is seeking a senior Project Manager Signalling to lead complex rail signalling projects in Victoria, Australia. The role involves end-to-end project delivery, managing scope, budget, and stakeholders to ensure safety, quality, and schedule objectives are met. This position requires a degree in Engineering or Project Management and at least 8 years of experience in major infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end delivery of railway signalling and communications projects, ensuring achievement of safety, quality, cost, schedule and customer objectives
  • Managing project scope, budget, programme, risks, contracts and stakeholder interfaces while leading multidisciplinary teams through design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and handover phases
  • Ensuring compliance with rail industry standards, contractual requirements and project governance processes, whilst maintaining strong relationships with clients, alliance partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Fostering cross-functional collaboration between engineering, operations, and external stakeholders to achieve project milestones
  • Accountable for project performance, reporting, change management, resource planning, and the successful delivery of signalling works within approved financial and programme targets

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management or equivalent
  • 8+ years' experience delivering rail signalling or complex rail systems projects within major infrastructure environments
  • Strong knowledge of signalling systems, project controls, contract management, and railway safety requirements
  • Deep understanding of rail safety principles, systems integration, and regulatory compliance frameworks
  • Proven leadership capability in managing multidisciplinary project teams and delivering large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, build strategic relationships, and drive effective decision-making across complex environments
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to achieve outcomes in a matrix organisation
