The Open Source Engineering organization is looking for a Project Analyst to join a scan team. This role involves scanning and analyzing software to identify third-party packages and their license information using various tools. The ideal candidate has a good understanding of open-source methodologies and common OSS licenses.

Responsibilities

  • Review scan results to confirm package identification and license compliance, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Assess third-party package licenses to identify usage conditions, obligations, and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare scan reports, investigate open items, and request clarifications from Engineering, Program Management, Product Management, Business Unit Legal, and the Open Source Legal Group.
  • Coordinate multiple concurrent scans and deliverables across business units, tracking status through completion.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of compliance workflows and scanning tools by documenting issues and proposing fixes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience, OR Associate's degree and 4+ years of relevant work experience, OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with software scanning tools (e.g., Black Duck, FossID, Palamida, ScanCode).
  • Ability to execute high-volume, detail-oriented work with consistent accuracy.
  • Ability to follow detailed, frequently updated procedures and apply changes quickly.
  • Ability to learn new tools quickly and document tool issues for troubleshooting; familiarity with issue-tracking systems.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, including translating compliance requirements into guidance for engineers and legal teams.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Legal, and program stakeholders.
  • Understanding of open-source methodologies.
  • Familiarity with common OSS licenses.
  • Working knowledge of firmware and software development concepts.

Desired Qualifications

  • Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
