Sandvik Mining is seeking a Production Operator for their Ground Support Division in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This full-time, on-site role involves operating machinery, assembly, processing, and packaging, with a focus on safety and quality. The ideal candidate has previous manufacturing experience and a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Setup, calibration, and operation of production machines, including CNC equipment.
  • Selection and measurement of raw materials to specifications.
  • Resolution of production, machinery, processing, and packaging issues.
  • Inspection of machining operations and finished products using precision tools.
  • Correction of minor machine malfunctions and performance of routine maintenance.
  • Adherence to safety and housekeeping (5S) requirements.
  • Contribution to the manufacturing of components and finished goods.
  • Performing general labor and other assigned duties.
  • Compliance with safety policies and regulations.
  • Maintaining an orderly work area and meeting housekeeping requirements.
  • Attendance at Environmental, Health, and Safety trainings.
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements

  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
  • Previous related experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Effective communication skills in English (spoken).
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions and drawings.
  • Good mathematical skills and ability to accurately read a tape measure (metric/standard).
  • Understanding of common workplace safety and environment practices.
  • Ability to meet attendance and punctuality requirements.
  • Ability to work shift-work.
  • Physical ability to continually handle objects weighing up to 20 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Desired Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to operate a forklift is an asset.
