Microsoft seeks a Principal Global Category Manager to develop and execute multi-year sourcing strategies for their cloud platforms across EMEA, AMER, and APAC regions. This remote role involves supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and continuous process improvement, requiring a Master's degree and significant experience in supply chain or related fields.

Responsibilities

Manage the development and execution of multi-year sourcing strategies based on business intelligence and Microsoft policies.
Maintain strategic alignment with sourcing execution, Construction, Engineering, Cost, Legal, Risk, Finance, Safety, and other teams.
Develop high-level negotiation strategies, organize procurement bid results, and communicate strategy and results to senior management.
Oversee supplier selection and performance management, applying expertise in procurement processes and market intelligence.
Facilitate negotiation of final contracts, provide strategic oversight for SLAs, and ensure compliance.
Segment suppliers and utilize engagement programs to improve performance and achieve business goals.
Identify ways to streamline, automate, and simplify processes, including deployment of tools and data analytics.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 5+ years experience in data science/analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operation OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 7+ years experience in data science/analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operation OR equivalent experience.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Desired Qualifications

Master's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 12+ years experience in data science/analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operation OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 15+ years experience in data science/analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operation OR equivalent experience.
7+ Years in category management, commercial or strategic sourcing role with proven continuing advancement.

Benefits

Base pay range of USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year (US).
Potential for different ranges in San Francisco Bay area and New York City metro area (USD $165,600 - $303,600).
Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
