As a Practice Customer Engineer for Data Analytics at Google Cloud, you will be a subject matter expert assisting customers in leveraging Google Cloud's capabilities. You will collaborate with technical business teams to design and implement innovative cloud solutions, conduct proofs-of-concept, and resolve technical challenges related to data management and the entire data lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Support local Sales teams in business opportunity pursuits, engaging customers on data lifecycle aspects.
- Identify business and technical requirements, conduct technical discovery, and architect client solutions.
- Lead technical projects, including technology advocacy, bid responses, product briefings, and proof-of-concept work.
- Work with Google Cloud Platform products to demonstrate and prototype integrations.
- Prepare and deliver product messaging highlighting the Google Cloud Platform value proposition through presentations and white papers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience as a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or a customer-facing role.
- Experience with Apache Spark and analytic warehouse solutions (e.g., Teradata, Netezza, Vertica, SQL-Server, and Big Data technologies).
- Experience implementing analytics systems architecture.
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience with technical sales or professional consulting in cloud computing, data, information life-cycle management, and Big Data.
- Experience with coding languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C++, Scala, R, or Go).
- Experience developing data warehousing, data lakes, batch, or real-time event processing and ETL workflow solutions, including architecture design, implementing, tuning, schema design, query of and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of Linux, Web 2.0 development platforms, solutions, and related technologies (e.g., HTTP, Basic/NTLM, sessions, XML/XSLT/XHTML/HTML).
- Understanding of DNS, TCP, Firewalls, Proxy Servers, DMZ, Load Balancing, VPN, VPC.
