In short
Ericsson is seeking a recent graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering to join their Radio hardware design team as a PCB Layout Engineer in Beijing. The role involves designing PCBs for radio base stations, collaborating with engineers on placement, routing, and ensuring manufacturability and performance, with opportunities to specialize in high-speed and RF design.
Responsibilities
- Perform PCB layout for radio base station hardware, from schematic netlist to fabrication-ready design.
- Work with hardware and RF engineers on placement, routing, stack-up, and impedance control for high-speed digital, RF and DC Power circuits.
- Apply design-for-manufacturability (DFM), design-for-assembly (DFA), and design-for-reliability (DFR) guidelines.
- Support signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), mechanical and thermal considerations during layout.
- Maintain PCB design documentation and libraries; ensure compliance with internal design rules and industry standards (e.g. IPC).
- Collaborate with PCB suppliers and manufacturing on design reviews and issue resolution.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement, competence development, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (fresh graduate) in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of PCB design principles, electronics fundamentals, and high-frequency/high-speed concepts.
- Familiarity with PCB layout tools – Cadence Allegro preferred (or Altium Designer, Mentor Xpedition).
- Good English reading and writing skills for technical documentation.
- Team player with strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and problem-solving mindset.
Desired Qualifications
- Basic understanding of signal integrity, impedance control, EMI/EMC and PCB manufacturing processes is a plus.
Benefits
- Outstanding opportunity to use skills and imagination to push the boundaries of what's possible.
- Build solutions never seen before to some of the world's toughest problems.
- Be challenged, but not alone.
- Join a team of diverse innovators, all driven to go beyond the status quo to craft what comes next.
- Encouraging a diverse and inclusive organization is core to our values.
