Ericsson is looking for a Networks CNE Engineering Intern in Plano, Texas for Summer 2027. This role involves supporting the deployment and optimization of Radio Access Networks (RAN), providing hands-on experience in telecommunications infrastructure and AI.

Responsibilities

Assist field engineers, construction teams, project managers, and other stakeholders with site surveys, site assessments, capacity-planning inputs, deployment coordination, documentation, and progress reporting.
Design and develop AI models, algorithms, and systems to solve business and technical problems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI into existing products and workflows.
Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights.
Optimize AI models for performance, scalability, and accuracy.
Research emerging AI techniques and technologies to keep the company at the forefront of innovation.
Conduct experiments and evaluations to validate AI solutions.
Document processes, workflows, and architectures for clarity and reproducibility.
Design, develop, and optimize AI/ML models use cases such as anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, root-cause analysis.
Specialize in troubleshooting and operating AI-driven chatbots and conversational agents.
Design, build and operate a digital twin to reproduce incidents, run closed loop simulations, and validate chatbot decisioning and automation before production rollout.

Requirements

Relevant fields of study: Electrical, telecommunications, wireless, computer, systems, or industrial engineering; Civil or construction engineering; Computer science; Information systems or information technology; AI, Data analytics; Operations or supply-chain management; Construction management; Project management; Logistics; Other disciplines demonstrating analytical, organizational, or technical capability.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, or basic programming (Python, scripting).
Clear written and verbal communication.
Ability to work in cross-functional teams and adapt to dynamic environments.
Comfort learning telecommunications concepts and technical tools.

Desired Qualifications

Familiarity with project management, data analysis, or IT operations (preferred but not required).
Telecommunications infrastructure, RAN architecture, and network deployment fundamentals.
RF principles, network optimization techniques, and performance metrics.
Construction project workflows, site logistics, and operational best practices.
Project and program management tools, methodologies, and governance.
Automation frameworks, scripting, and tools relevant to network operations.
Data analysis and visualization for network performance and operational insights.
Cross-functional collaboration in a complex, regulated industry.
