Responsibilities
- Translate high-level and low-level designs into clear implementation plans and configurations.
- Set up and maintain lab environments, including router configuration, testing, and validation.
- Execute network changes in line with change management processes.
- Support deployment and operations teams with technical expertise.
- Perform network modelling, analysis, and capacity planning.
- Lead technical discussions with customers and advise on architecture and technology choices.
- Create technical documentation, presentations, and proposals.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field.
- At least 5 years of experience in IP networking and infrastructure engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with network design, implementation, and project delivery.
- An accurate and analytical way of working, especially in structured environments with high-impact network changes.
- Fluency in English.
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant Cisco certification(s), or the willingness to obtain them.
- Dutch language skills are a strong advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Metro Ethernet, MPLS, Unified MPLS, Segment Routing.
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols, including IS-IS, OSPF, BGP v4/v6, iBGP, and eBGP.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco hardware (ASR1k, ASR9k, Nexus).
- Strong knowledge of network automation (Python, Ansible, REST/NETCONF, YANG/JSON/YAML).
- Strong knowledge of VPN technologies (EVPN, Inter-AS VPN, Carrier Ethernet).
- Strong knowledge of high availability features (NSF, graceful restart, BFD, link aggregation).
- Strong knowledge of service provider virtualization (e.g., Cisco ACI).
