Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on the environmental business case for wind and solar-based fuel production in an internal combustion engine context.
  • Perform an extensive literature survey.
  • Investigate the potential in hydrogen and e-fuel production, considering price and electricity trade-offs for new power investments.
  • Find relevant information, contact suppliers/producers, and compile data.
  • Evaluate data using Matlab, Excel, and Python.
  • Write up the thesis and present it orally at Scania and the grading university.

Requirements

  • Master student with a major in engineering economics, energy sciences, or environmental engineering (energy focus) or similar.
  • Educated in engineering economics and energy sciences.
  • Understanding of electricity grid limitations and intermittent power production.
  • Interest in the economic part of engineering.
  • Fundamentally knowledgeable of Matlab.
  • Highly knowledgeable of Excel and Python.
  • Proficient in Swedish and English in speech and writing.

Desired Qualifications

  • Personal traits enabling smooth producer and supplier contacts.
  • Knowledge of German is considered an advantage.
