Technology, Data & Digital · Software & Web Development · Software Engineering · Embedded Systems · Robotics & Automation
In short
Join an exciting Master's thesis project investigating quantum randomized navigation for autonomous enterprise robots. You will design, implement, and evaluate a system using QRNG output for route selection while ensuring safety and operational constraints are met. This role is ideal for an MSc student with strong programming skills and an interest in robotics and AI.
Responsibilities
- Study, design, implement, and evaluate a safe stochastic navigation system.
- Use QRNG output to influence robot route-selection decisions.
- Evaluate conditions under which stochastic route selection improves navigation performance.
- Benchmark QRNG-based route selection against deterministic pseudorandom approaches to reduce congestion, repeated path usage, or predictable behavior.
- Configure a mobile robot for office environment operation.
- Integrate the robot system with a QRNG.
Requirements
- Enrolled in the final year of an MSc program in Robotics and autonomous systems, Electrical engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Basic understanding of probability, random number generation, and statistical evaluation.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Ability to work independently, manage a 20-week research project.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly in writing and presentation.
- Ability to design and conduct experiments, analyze performance results, and draw clear technical conclusions.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ROS or C/C++ is an advantage.
- Familiarity with machine learning, robotics frameworks, indoor localization.
- Interest in edge AI, embedded systems, physical AI, robotics, or intelligent sensing.
Benefits
- Outstanding opportunity to use skills and imagination to push boundaries.
- Opportunity to build solutions never seen before.
- Challenging work environment within a team of diverse innovators.
- Encouraging a diverse and inclusive organization.
- Opportunity to collaborate with people with different experiences to drive innovation.
