Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Assist senior Technicians with troubleshooting by following diagrams, sketches, manuals, and engineering specifications.
- Apply correct methods and practices in preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, and minor construction of buildings and utilities.
- Support Maintenance Technician II, Team Lead and Manager when additional support is needed.
- Use proper Lock-Out Tag-Out processes and procedures.
- Notify management of any safety risks or repairs required.
- Provide necessary materials to various workstations.
- Understand and clarify work plans to complete assignments with high quality and timeliness.
- Select and safely use a variety of hand, power, and specialty tools.
- Assist other trade personnel as needed.
- Identify and recommend replacements or improvements.
- Adjust functional parts and control instruments.
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
- Keep the workplace organized.
- Perform welding and fabrication.
- Perform general electrical work, including testing components and taking equipment readings.
- Repair and conduct preventive maintenance on CNC controllers.
- Perform weld repairs to equipment.
- Cross-train in other areas or departments.
- Help train new employees.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements
- High School degree or GED equivalent with relevant experience.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Basic math skills required including ability to read a tape measure.
- Overtime and minimal local travel (<10%) will be required.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Steel toe boots, safety glasses, fall protection, arc flash, and ear plugs).
- Ability to operate near hazards: moving machinery, vehicles, electrical currents, and chemicals.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to communicate effectively through speech and hearing.
- Prior maintenance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting preferred.
- Electrical or mechanical technician experience or education preferred.
- Forklift and scissor lift operation experience preferred.
- Overhead crane experience preferred.
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to exert up to 75 lbs of force occasionally; 50 lbs of force frequently.
- Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
- Exposure to various weather conditions cold or hot, wet/humid conditions, and loud noise levels. No climate-controlled environment.
