We are looking for a Machine Operator to join our Blanching Department. This role involves operating and setting up various manual machines to produce high-quality tools, verifying accuracy against blueprints and specifications. A high school diploma and at least one year of machine shop experience are required.
Responsibilities
- Operate and set up machines as required.
- Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
- Select, align, and secure fixtures, tools, and materials on machines.
- Calculate and set machining factors such as speed, feed, depth, and angle.
- Check machinery daily for functionality.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year machine shop experience required.
- Strong math skills for metric to inch and decimal to fraction conversions.
- Ability to accurately read blueprints.
- Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
- Ability to machine parts to specifications using machine tools.
- Ability to measure, examine, and test completed tools for defects.
- Ability to set up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools for precision machining.
- Ability to monitor feeds and speeds during machining.
Desired Qualifications
- Certification from a qualified training institution in machining is preferred but not required.
- Experience with Blanching Machines is preferred.
