In short

Ericsson is seeking a Group Legal Counsel in Bucharest, Romania, to provide strategic legal advice and support across commercial, regulatory, employment, and governance matters. The role requires at least 7 years of relevant experience, deep knowledge of Romanian law, and experience in regulated industries, with a focus on complex commercial agreements and risk management in a multinational environment.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic and practical legal solutions that drive business objectives while managing legal and commercial risk.
Act as a trusted advisor to the business, understanding its complexities and striving for simplicity in approach.
Negotiate and manage customer, supplier, and partner agreements.
Advise on strategic business opportunities, public sector engagements, and mission-critical initiatives.
Manage disputes and litigation matters.
Contribute to governance, compliance, and risk management activities.
Collaborate with stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Finance, Security, People, and business functions.
Support business growth and transformation initiatives.

Requirements

At least Bachelor’s degree in law.
At least 7 years of relevant law experience in a corporate in-house setting, a leading law firm, or a combination of both.
Deep knowledge in Romanian private and public law.
Strong experience negotiating and advising on complex commercial agreements.
Experience managing legal and commercial risk in a multinational environment.
Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.
Critical thinking, ability to analyze complex situations and provide practical legal advice.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including handling internal contacts, external counsel, and counterparties.
Ability to build trust and credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
Fluency in English.
Proficient in Microsoft 365, including effective use of AI tools.
Ability to independently handle and manage all legal matters.

Experience in telecommunications, technology, ICT, infrastructure or other highly regulated industries is preferred.
