In short

As a PA and Product Requirement & Compliance Specialist at IKEA in México, you will ensure that regulated products meet all national requirements and legislation, contributing to sustainable availability. You will monitor, map, and implement relevant standards, reporting changes and their implications to ensure IKEA's compliance, and manage communications with national authorities on product safety and non-compliance issues.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to sustainable availability of regulated products by ensuring sellability and compliance with national requirements and legislation.
  • Work with stores and IoS to share knowledge and information of local market requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Leaders and Availability and Supply Support teams to ensure timely approval of new regulated products for sales start.
  • Identify existing, developing, or amended national product legislations and standards (Safety, Environmental, Health, Quality, Legal).
  • Ensure methods are in place for monitoring, mapping, follow-up, and implementation of all relevant standards.
  • Report changes to national product legislation and standards to IoS PR&C with an analysis of content and implications.
  • Support stores and IoS PR&C in product investigations and matters concerning product safety and non-compliance.
  • Support local Public Relations in product safety-related issues and handle contacts with national authorities.
  • Identify product recall and product safety reporting procedures on the local market and keep IoS PR&C informed.
  • Implement and follow up the Safety Alarm Routine (IKEA 0004).
  • Participate in and/or monitor national standardization work and business associations to drive improvements of product-related standards.
  • Develop a good working relationship with national consumer authorities and act as the IKEA contact person for product safety and compliance.
  • Ensure product compliance-related training where necessary, supporting stores with training materials and competence development.
  • Live the IKEA values and nurture a strong IKEA culture, contributing to a people and planet positive business.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the PCD cycle.
  • Understanding of on-shelf availability (OSA), its measurement, and goals.
  • Knowledge of all product regulating authorities in the market.
  • Knowledge of how to stay updated on new product legislation in the market.
  • Regular visits to key authorities in the market.
  • Knowledge of how to use the MMR tool.
  • Knowledge of how to support stores with product safety matters.
  • Familiarity with the CASY system – how and when it is used.
  • Knowledge of all consumer authorities in the market.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize individual work duties for efficient time utilization.
  • Flexible approach to daily tasks and ability to adapt to unpredictable situations.
  • Openness to new ideas and changes in ways of working.
  • Good personal discipline and commitment to delivering according to expectations.
  • Good attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
  • Confidence in approaching and talking to people with a friendly manner.
