Qualcomm is looking for an HSIO Characterization Engineer in Bangalore, India. This role involves post-silicon validation and electrical characterization of High-Speed IO interfaces and LPDDR subsystems across various platforms. The ideal candidate will have a B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics or Electrical Engineering and 0-2 years of experience with relevant HSIO standards and bench instruments.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate parametric and electrical performance of High-Speed IO IPs.
- Perform post-silicon validation, characterization, and compliance testing of HSIO interfaces.
- Analyze signal quality including eye diagrams, jitter, BER, receiver tolerance, equalization, and link performance.
- Perform failure analysis and root-cause design, silicon, board, and system-level issues.
- Bring up complex validation platforms, boards, and test environments.
- Develop validation plans, test methodologies, automation frameworks, and test scripts.
- Collaborate closely with PHY design, system engineering, software, hardware, and customer engineering teams across the globe in a time-critical environment.
Requirements
- M.Tech, B.Tech, or equivalent in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
- 0-2 years of related work experience.
- Familiarity with post-silicon validation and characterization of DDR and High-Speed IO interfaces.
- Knowledge of HSIO standards such as PCIe, USB, UFS, MIPI, Ethernet, DisplayPort, and HDMI at PHY and protocol levels.
- Understanding of electrical compliance specifications including eye diagram analysis, jitter measurements, BER testing, receiver jitter tolerance, link equalization, differential signaling, signal integrity, power integrity, transmission line effects, and de-embedding techniques.
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals and understanding of analog/digital ICs, semiconductor devices, and VLSI technologies.
- Hands-on experience with bench instruments such as oscilloscopes, BERT/J-BERT, protocol analyzers, vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, timing sources, and logic analyzers.
- Exposure to board bring-up, debug, and test setup development.
- Programming and automation skills using Python, C/C++, C#, Shell scripting, LabVIEW, or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field.
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to FPGA platforms and development tools such as Xilinx or Intel/Altera is an added advantage.
- Experience developing test automation and data analysis frameworks is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
- Self-motivated with strong ownership and execution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
