Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services for episode and podcast management.
- Contribute to user-facing surfaces and frontend experiences using React and TypeScript.
- Create and evolve APIs and services connecting user experiences with internal infrastructure.
- Drive improvements to system performance and developer experience.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers.
- Contribute to technical discussions and platform decisions.
- Support engineers and maintain high code quality.
- Foster a culture of experimentation, ownership, and continuous learning.
Requirements
- Experience building and operating production backend systems using Java, Ruby on Rails, or similar.
- Some experience with React and TypeScript, or eagerness to develop frontend skills.
- Familiarity with distributed systems concepts (asynchronous processing, service-to-service APIs, storage design, observability).
- Deep care for creator user experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Growth mindset, curiosity, and willingness to experiment.
- Familiarity with or interest in podcast ecosystems and creator tooling.
