In short

As a Senior Staff Engineer in Multimedia/Camera at Qualcomm India, you will be responsible for Linux kernel driver development, contributing to open-source multimedia architectures, and driving end-to-end feature ownership. This role requires technical leadership, mentoring experience, and direct customer interaction, with a strong preference for camera domain experience within the IOT segment.

Responsibilities

Drive architecture and design decisions for complex multimedia systems.
Act as a technical lead, mentoring engineering teams of 10+ engineers, including task planning, technical guidance, and design reviews.
Work directly with customers to understand requirements, debug critical issues, and drive solutions to closure.
Own features across the full product lifecycle, from pre-silicon enablement and bring-up through commercialization.
Engage in upstream Linux kernel contributions, including camera and multimedia subsystem upstreaming.
Actively participate in open source community discussions.
Develop Linux kernel drivers with a deep understanding of kernel internals and device drivers.
Work with open-source multimedia architectures like V4L2, Media Controller, and libcamera.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, OR Master's degree and 3+ years of experience, OR PhD and 2+ years of experience.
2+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
Strong hands-on experience in Linux kernel driver development.
Deep understanding of kernel internals and device drivers.
Proven track record of upstream Linux kernel contributions.
Experience in camera and multimedia subsystem upstreaming.
Experience in IOT segment.

Desired Qualifications

Camera domain experience strongly preferred.
Active participation in open source community discussions.
